Lean Startup, by Ángel Medinilla

Keynote, Friday, June 21, 10:30 – 11:30 @ Auditorium

Ángel Medinilla

During the last decade, Agile Development practices have taken the lead on the software industry. Sometimes seen as a reaction to bureaucratic and heavy frameworks, these lightweigth sets of practices, processes and tools are focused on short incremental releases of working software, adapting to change, continuous improvement and daily collaboration between business and technical people.
But some critics of the Agile framework will state that Agile companies produce “double the crap, double fast”… And they might be right! Just stuffing a Product Backlog won’t guarantee that you have a product that solves a customer problem, nor will it make sure that there’s a market for the product or even that your customers will ever hear about it!

In this talk you will learn how Lean Startup framework is combining Agile Development with Customer Development cycles to increase the delivery of value while reducing waste by continuosly interacting with customers, thus being able to rapidly discover customer needs, develop marketable products, reduce the burn rate and increase the ROI. Don’t be fouled by the name: it’s not only for Startups, it works like charm in huge companies too!
